Phoenix Fun Fly - 1998

Lu's Blinking Heli Pin Lu's Lear Jet Pin

Check out the cute NoTar pin for sale from Lu Bellino at the Fun Fly. When plugged in one way, a small LED blinks like a running light (you can see I caught it on in the snap shot just below the left front window). The pic is of the pin on my favorite Seven Springs ski hat. The pins were a big hit. There was also a Lear Jet as Lu is modeling above and a 57 Chevy both with lights as well.

Superstition Mountain Road Runners Field

The pic on the left is the Superstition Mountain as seen out the back of the Grand Hotel, Apache Junction, AZ. As you can see the weather was less that hospitable. The scene at the flying field wasn't much better on Friday. Saturday was better (see below) but Sunday was blown out and rained out as a big storm raced thru.

Scale contestants

Just look at that back drop for the scale entries. You just don't see scenery like that in Ohio! The big Lama 2nd from the left was beautifully detailed right down to the lettering on the page in the scale clip board hanging from the cockpit dash. The head was fully damped and articulated.

The Gang Futura SE mowing grass

Here's the Gang, from the left; Bob Belluomini, Dave Perez & Lu Bellino, Ewald Heim and a friend of Ewald's from Germany. Ewald's friend was not able to get his scale helicopter through customs and was forced to come with out it! Bummer. One of the Futura SE's present doing a little grounds maintenance.

Dave and Lu The author

Dave and Lu yuckin it up during Saturdays flying. Thats me on the right with my Futura SE

MadDog LMH 100 Drag Races

A monster "Mad Dog" LMH100. To windy for this beast to fly. One of the drag races getting started on Sunday, before the rains hit. Note how dark it is, and its not a bad picture exposure either!
